Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. currently has an immediate opening for an experienced Grader Operator in our Base & Grading Business Unit.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Finish Grader Operator. 

• Ability to operate a grader in a safe manner.

• Ability to work safely and always stay alert to surroundings. 

• Able to finish gravel and other surfaces within sub-centimeter tolerances in preparation for asphalt and concrete paving.

• Experience with GPS machine control and survey equipment is considered an asset.

• Experience with other construction equipment is considered an asset.

• Able to cut grade against concrete, grade stakes, asphalt and other jobsite structures.

• Familiar with working in close proximity to ground personnel.

• Ability to communicate with grade checker and act upon information received. 

• Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret plans and drawings.

• Help set manholes and valves to finished grade.

• Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

• Perform routine cleaning to ensure smooth operation on assigned equipment.

• Advise foremen and the shop of any issues or repairs required on assigned equipment. 

• Assist crew with all other site activities as required.

• Physical strength, stamina and coordination to complete assigned duties.

• Ability to withstand working outside on uneven ground for long periods of time and in varying weather conditions.

• Strong communication skills.

• Pass mandatory Drug, Alcohol and Fitness Testing. 

• Valid Driver’s License (Class 5) and reliable transportation.
